Day Trip: Alsatian Villages and Colmar Christmas Markets

Day Trip: Alsatian Villages and Colmar Christmas Markets

Our first stop is the village of Riquewihr, a typical village of the Wine Route: the facades and monuments are illuminated and the decorations amaze young and old. Eyes full of lights and a full belly, we will set out again on the Wine Route for a crossing of small Alsatian villages. Our bus will then stop in Kaysersberg, to discover this medieval village in the colors of Christmas. The Kaysersberg Christmas market traditionally welcomes you all four Advent weekends. The other days of the week you will find there a concentrate of Alsace: a historic town center filled with charm with beautiful old half-timbered houses. It will then be time to leave to go to the famous city of Colmar, where different Christmas markets dot the city and create different atmospheres depending on the neighborhood. You will be able to enjoy three hours of visit in complete freedom, punctuated by tastings of seasonal delicacies.

Passionate about travel and architecture, Céline and Yvan ZEYSSOLFF visited many family cellars, original and sometimes exceptional. Which all have a common theme: democratizing one of the finest French heritage, which is wine. The estate is no longer used only as a working tool, but as a place of exchange where wine is told through family and regional history. Céline and Yvan ZEYSSOLFF, owner of a domain rich in history and heritage, decide to create a place of sharing where wine enthusiasts or not, emerge enriched not only culturally but emotionally. You will taste 5 Alsatian wines and a vegetable quiche in a unique setting: an old family cellar dating from 1850 where history and modernity mingle! A small cozy space is also at your disposal in the old vaulted cellar of the House. Children are welcome and will have a homemade grape juice.

Maison ZEYSSOLFF is one of the rare cellars in Alsace with around twenty century-old oak casks each with a capacity of 10,000L still used for the vinification of its wines. His great curiosity is the ZEYSSOLFF barrel, made in 1897 for the Universal Exhibition in Paris (1900). It is still used today. The immersive experience with projections on lightning bolts and sound work is unique in France. Children are welcome during the visit, it is suitable for everyone. An entry for the gingerbread palace is offered to you and you will leave with a bottle of mulled wine made by the House! Our domain has been in organic conversion since August 2018.

The name of my boutique-style chauffeur and limousine service is "a friend in heidelberg". Many guests of mine told me that this very name is the perfect choice. The stops mentioned under "Itinerary" are possible destinations of our tour. I am more than happy to compose an individual tour, which is based entirely on your preferences and wishes. I was not only born in the famous historical city of Heidelberg and know the area extremely well, but also lived and worked in the US and hence speak fluent English. If you wish I can help you with the organization of your trip ahead of time. You will be chauffeured in a Mercedes S-Class, virtually a private jet for the road, equipped with all state-of-the-art features.

On tour with a friend and his Mercedes S-Class - true first-class service
"From the initial booking and conversation, Manfred exceeded our expectations. We want to visit Heidelberg as we'd lived close to the city years ago and spent quite a bit of time there. Manfred ensured luxury and comfort in every aspect. Manfred ensured we arrived and was able to park our vehicle in a safe and easily accessible area. We visited Heidelberg Castle, Old Town Heidelberg, Hirschhorn, Dilsberg, and Speyer. Each tour was met with Manfred's wealth of knowledge...as he honored my request to go "off the beaten path". We are no longer tourist after residing in EU several times over the years, so he understood the request and honored it. The luxury transportation was our standard, so we didn't have to worry about having to settle. Manfred had water, and snacks on hand as well. We were able to get closer than most to sights and avoid crowds at all times. Manfred was beyond accommodating to changes in our schedule and changes in what we wanted to see. I have recommended this tour and his service to my colleagues already."..."
