Amsterdams Lieverdje , Spui 14, 1012 XA Amsterdam, Netherlands
Your walking tour of Amsterdam begins in the morning in Dam Square, where your informative guide leads your small group around the historical center. Learn about Amsterdam's history, arts, culture, and architecture, from the city’s humble beginnings on the Amstel River to the glorious Golden Age to today.

View the Royal Palace, the famous Dutch East Indies company, the Begijnhof courtyard with its hidden church, the Amsterdam Museum and the old city gates. Admire perfectly preserved 17th-century gabled houses and peaceful tree-lined canals dotted with traditional Dutch houseboats.

Wander down the bustling shopping street of Kalverstraat, and in the Jordaan district, note the many upscale art galleries, specialty shops, and restaurants. Your guide also takes you into the alleys of the notorious Red Light District (de Wallen).

End your tour at Westerchurch, with plenty of time left in the day to continue exploring on your own.

Great walking tour with loads of history, useful tips, anecdotes & a few laughs. Relaxed guide who clearly knew the city well and brought it to life! Shame he couldn’t bring the sunshine!!

Admittedly the weather is not great sometimes for touring, it is however wonderful for the tulips. Good note for visitors to the NL always be prepared to wear layers. Thanks for the good time.

Great tour!

Shaun was a great guide with lots of interesting facts and sights about Amsterdam. Really loved the walking tour, more so than a canal tour I took a couple of days later. It was great to get the personal experience of someone who has lived there for so long.
icon Response from Host , May 2022
Well the canal ride would give you more of a new perspective on the buildings -looking up from water level. I am glad you took our tour before to have some context at what you are seeing. Other guests should take note, great review.

I tend not to focus on the History, but it is refreshing to have a chat about some facts when the audience is receptive, so thank you.

A very sociable and interesting morning.

We really enjoyed our tour with Sean and his little dog. The group size of about 12 was perfect and Sean kept us engaged for the whole 3 hours, pointing out things that we would never have noticed on our own. A group tour also gives you a chance to chat to other tourists and (of course) Sean himself. If you’re thinking of booking it you won’t be disappointed! We enjoyed our coffee stop in an interesting little coffee house too.
icon Response from Host , May 2022
A Patricia you remembered "coffee house" not "coffeeshop" - Thanks for the review and mentioning Tolkien. Had a good time with your group as well.
