Beale Street runs from the Mississippi River to East Street, nearly two miles of blues clubs and restaurants that make it one of the top tourist attractions in Memphis.

Drive through Victorian Village, a historic neighborhood with homes that were built in the 1800s. Pass by the statues of B.B. King and Elvis Presley as well as the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Hotel, where Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated.

Stop at A. Schwab, a Memphis institution that sells all things Memphis—from regional arts and crafts, to dry goods, magic potions, candies, books, magazines and more—and the Peabody Memphis, a landmark, 13-story downtown hotel.

Pass by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; and the Memphis Pyramid, now a Bass Pro Shops “megastore” with shopping, a hotel, restaurants, a bowling alley, and an archery range.

Michelle, Our tour guide was outstanding! She was humorous, very knowledgeable, with tons of bits of interesting details about all the locations on our visit. You needed to be there to hear her story about the “broke bridge” Rt 40, across the Mississippi. Do not skip the add on for the Sun Studio tour. Honestly, you will regret it. There are so many details about the beginning of Rock and Roll and the individuals who recorded there. To actually stand on the spot where Elvis stood is historical.

Outstanding tour of Memphis

Our tour guide Sam was phenomenal. He has a great knowledge of the history and current events in Memphis and the sites within Memphis. He is very friendly and helpful and entertaining. I highly recommend this tour and especially Sam! He even delayed his own personal trip to take on an additional day of work because of his desire to serve the people who visit his city. He personally attends to the needs of each of his tourists especially his seniors. Thank you Sam for a very enjoyable and informative visit to your city. You are a great ambassador for the city of Memphis. Stan & Doreen Whittet
