This Ground Zero walking tour begins at St Paul's Chapel, aka the Little Chapel That Stood. St Paul’s is the oldest public building in New York City that’s still actively used. This church somehow survived the falling debris from the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center despite being only one block away from the melee. It became a kind of rescue center during the aftermath of the tragedy, and the iron fence that surrounds it became a place for family members to post notices about their missing loved ones.

As the tour continues, walk to the FDNY Memorial Wall and FDNY Ten House. Hear the heroic stories about the emergency responders on that day and see the fire station at Ground Zero.

Finally, enter the National September 11 Memorial, aka the 9/11 Memorial, a tribute of remembrance and honor to the almost 3,000 people who were killed on 9/11 — at the World Trade Center site, in the plane crash near Shanksville, Pa., and at the Pentagon — as well as the six people who were killed in the World Trade Center bombing in February 1993.

There are twin reflecting pools at the very spots where the Twin Towers once stood. Look up and see One World Trade Center’s Freedom Tower.

There is an optional upgrade to include entry into the National September 11 Museum — 110,000 square feet of exhibit space located at the heart of the World Trade Center site. The museum tells the story of 9/11 through multimedia displays, archives, narratives and a collection of artifacts. The lives of every victim of the 2001 and 1993 attacks are commemorated here.
Itinerary
Stop At:
St. Paul's Chapel
We will start the tour at St. Paul's Chapel, New York City’s oldest public building still in continuous use. Just one block away from the 9/11 attacks, it miraculously survived the falling building and debris. St. Paul’s Chapel served as a makeshift rescue center during the aftermath. Its iron fence became a bulletin board where family members posted notices of their missing loved ones. Today, with the mementos received from people around the world supporting New York City, the church serves as both a landmark and a tribute.

Great tour. The only reason for a 4-star rating is that the guide was difficult to understand. But she was extremely nice and knowledgeable.

lacks communications

Went to meeting place, found we were on W Broadway NOT Broadway, we ran down to Broadway, but we ended up missing the tour and having to buy additional tickets to the Museum. This was our 50th Anniversary weekend and the most anticipated tour of the weekend. We thought we would miss the museum. Communication with viator was non existent, there should be a contact for situations like ours.

Hello Daniel, I'm sorry that it seems you ran into some issues on this day. The voucher that is sent is just a confirmation email with details regarding the tour. When you view the voucher it is stated that it's not your entry ticket. To avoid any confusion between a confirmation voucher and the actual attraction tickets. Also provided on the voucher is the correct meeting point address as well as our contact information to reach us directly. Since we did not hear back from you. I had gone ahead and sent a message with the museum tickets attached. The tickets were sent over in a timely fashion to avoid you having to purchase any new tickets.

Hello, This review has many falsehoods that have been claimed against us. We never received any emails, calls or messages from you. We in turn were attempting to contact you for many days leading up to the tour, as well as the day of, when our guide alerted us that they had checked everyone in. With the only exception being your party. I made a phone call to you as soon as our guide contacted us. Once again the call went to voicemail, as it did leading up to the day. We have someone active and online to answer calls or emails every day. Since you never got back in contact with us, we left the booking for our 2:00 PM time and even instructed our guide to speak with you if you arrived and checked in. This was done to cover all bases since we were not able to connect with you over the many days that we tried.

The 11 tears memorial was nice thing to see. The stories she told were good. We got a lot more out of this good than we would have if we went to the museum alone. I thought we knew most of the details of 911 but we learned a lot more of how the symbolism and the memories are integrated into the whole grounds. Also loved the story about the survivor tree.
